Vocalocity's new service helps protect against data loss and provides a shared storage drive accessible through the Web, which allows for simple data recovery. All data, documents and other information is stored on this shared storage drive, which can only be accessed by authorized users.

Tiger Technology announced that one of its products, poolIT, is now shipping. poolIT has several key features aimed at SMBs: It pools together multiple live storage devices into a single namespace, and isolates users and applications from changes to the physical storage infrastructure. poolIT also aggregates physical volumes into a single virtual volume so data can be accessed from a single mount point. poolIT optimizes data storage and offers advanced virtualization for direct-attached storage (DAS), network-attached storage (NAS) and storage area network (SAN) storage -- keeping the most recent files local, and transferring older files to an offsite server.

Axcient doubles number of MSPs in third quarter

Axcient Inc. announced that it has doubled the number of Managed Service Providers (MSPs) that sell the Axcient service in its latest quarter of operation. Axcient provides data backup, business continuity (BC) and disaster recovery (DR) services for SMBs. Its hybrid cloud service has an on-premise data backup and replication appliance with offsite cloud storage.

Storage Guardian launches online data backup campaign for SMBs

Storage Guardian has launched a "Dust-Off Your Tapes" campaign to help give SMBs awareness about the dangers of relying on vulnerable magnetic tapes for long-term storage. With this campaign, Storage Guardian is encouraging SMBs to migrate data stored on tape to online data backup service providers. Many online data backup service providers will migrate tape data to online service providers, such as Storage Guardian's Asigra. Asigra converts tape format into a backup lifecycle management archive package that can then be integrated into an accessible online tiered storage system.
