GreenBytes Inc. introduced a new storage area network (SAN) and network-attached storage (NAS) appliance for SMBs called the GB-1000. The GB-1000 is GreenByte's newest addition to its GB-X Series, which was designed to bring data deduplication beyond data protection in primary storage environments.

The GB-1000 has eight drive slots with 500 GB drives each, for a capacity of 4 TB, and its restore rate starts at 150 MBps.
Unitrends and Colocube partner up to deliver cloud-based disaster recovery services for SMBs
Unitrends announced that it will partner with Colocube to deliver cloud-based disaster recovery (DR) services to SMBs. The new partnership will allow Unitrends to integrate its data backup and archiving appliances with cloud-based storage architecture hosted by Colocube, allowing for fast physical seeding of customer data into the cloud. Also, the cloud-based service is managed through a Web 2.0 user interface and monitored by a data protection staff at Colocube.
KingsBridge releases Phoenix Foundation disaster recovery planning software
KingsBridge Systems announced the latest release of their disaster recovery planning software, Phoenix Foundation. Phoenix Foundation is designed for SMBs, and offers DR/business continuity (BC) planning templates, team planning and plan publishing. Other features of Phoenix Foundation include a plan project management dashboard and workflow processing.
Dot Hill releases AssuredSAN 3000 Series, a generation of disk-to-disk data protection appliances for SMBs
Dot Hill Systems Corp. released AssuredSAN 3000 Series, its next generation disk-to-disk data protection appliances for SMBs. The AssuredSAN 3000 Series comes with a bundle of disaster recovery applications, including Dot Hill's AssuredRemote remote replication software, AssuredSnap and AssuredCopy. The combination of these features gives SMBs an option to opt out of third-party host-based software. The AssuredRemote feature can also offload data backup operations from critical servers, which can reduce the impact to production servers.
The AssuredSAN 3000 Series is available now with prices starting at $20,200 for a dual controller Fibre Channel (FC) system with 500 GB SATA drives.
