Tandberg Data introduces new NAS series: the DPS2000

Tandberg Data announced that it has added a new network-attached storage (NAS) series, the DS2000 to its line of disk systems. The DPS2000 NAS provides users with automated data protection, file sharing, consolidated iSCSI storage, remote data replication and improved data backup and recovery capabilities.

Features of the new DPS2000 NAS include: simultaneous file sharing and iSCSI disk storage on same device, data storage consolidation from multiple services onto one DPS2000 NAS, an AccuGuard server software with source-based data deduplication, ...

The DPS2000 NAS comes in a desktop configuration with either 4 TB or 8 TB. It will be available in March 2010, and is priced at $2,290 for 4 TB.

LaCie introduces new desktop network data storage solution for SMBs

LaCie announced a new line of network storage devices for SMBs: the LaCie d2 Network 2 (single disk), LaCie 2big Network 2 (two disks) and LaCie 5big Network 2 (five disks).

The new line of disks delivers data with transfer rates of up to 70 MBps, has multiple hot-swap RAID levels, has a widget-managed Web administration and allows up to 10 TB of shared desktop network storage. In addition, the LaCie 5big Network 2 has additional features such as an extra LAN port; it can also be configured as an iSCSI target client.

The LaCie line of disks comes with a three-year warranty and is priced at $229.99.

Nimbus Technology launches new cloud storage service

Nimbus Technology announced the launch of a new Nimbus Cloud Storage Service powered by the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform. Under the Mezeo Cloud Storage Platform, the Nimbus Cloud Storage Service offers advanced file sharing and collaboration. It also offers end-to-end security with SSL encryption of data as it's being transferred, and a 256-bit AES encryption for data on the server.

The Nimbus Cloud Storage Service works on a pay-as-you-go policy.

Maxell partners with RDX Storage Alliance

The RDX Storage Alliance announced that Maxell has agreed to become a partner with them. Maxell is a provider of data storage media products. The RDX Storage Alliance is a group focused on SMBs, providing them with data protection with removable disk technology products.
